Allison herfindahl
Allison’s torched copper artwork and geological photography is featured on the labels. I have known her for many years, as her daughter, Shannon (graphic designer of the labels) is a close friend of mine. Allison’s art has marveled me for years and it was so organic how her artwork made it on to the labels. After seeing some of her torched copper work on Instagram, I reached out to Shannon and before you could blink an eye the mother/daughter collaboration on labels was finished: artwork by mother, designed by daughter.
Allison is an artist and retired machinist who enjoys natural beauty and patterns. Lapidary, metal work, and photography enable her to define the natural patterns that nature has to offer. Presenting it in multi mediums is her way of sharing her passion for all to see. She lives in Aptos, CA.

Shannon and I go way back. We went to college together and have been very close friends ever since. She watched me ferment Grenache in a trash can on my porch in Davis and we daydreamed of our future lives and how one day she’d likely design a wine label for me. The day finally came and it was a no-brainer to have her involved in the project, as her design work is beautiful and thoughtfully approached.
Naturally drawn to art since childhood, she is inspired by nature foremost, especially mountains and ocean, and also deeply appreciates timeless graphic and architectural design. She’s been lucky to travel and find much inspiration from other talented designer’s work.
Hiking, biking, snowboarding, traveling, gardening, food, cooking, and relaxing in beautiful environments are her passion and these hobbies alongside design keeps her happy and full of life. Shannon lives with her husband, Devin, and son, Orion, in Santa Cruz. She is an independent graphic designer who is incredibly talented and has an eye for balance and perfection.
